Revitalization of Francisco Elias Park
Client:
CAPLA
Year:
2024
Our project focused on revitalizing Francisco Elias Esquer Park in Tucson, Arizona, addressing issues of poor management, street flooding, and homelessness while enhancing the park’s functionality and appeal. To mitigate flooding, we implemented a central wash that redirects water into an underground culvert, preventing street overflow and improving accessibility during rainy seasons. To promote safety and community engagement, we added a basketball court, a community fridge, and a garden, providing recreational opportunities and resources for local residents. A pedestrian bridge and walking path lights were installed to improve nighttime visibility and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for visitors. These additions collectively create a vibrant, secure space that fosters community connection and comfort for everyone.
